Sorry Gonzo, we can’t help with your theme because it is not released under the GPL license. WordPress.org forums are strict about not supporting any other license.
Your theme license is Creative Commons, which can mean you’re not allowed to edit or modify particular parts of it.
WordPress.org forums are really here to support themes distributed on WordPress.org and those themes are all released under the GPL license. If you can’t receive support from your theme’s vendors then it may be worth switching to one of the themes on WordPress.org.

PS: After I install one of those themes, how can I get the TopBar plugin to do what I want?
since each theme and plugin is individually written, it will depend.
Bit like asking how to switch on the lights in different makes of car – you know they’ll be a switch somewhere that does sidelights and then headlights, but where it is on the dashboard and whether it is a button, dial, or slider you don’t know until you get in it !
Quite often if you google the theme or plugin name and the word video (eg “wordpress wowslider video” gets you a video) you’ll find someone has done a video to show you, so you can get an idea of what it looks like and how to set it up even before you’ve installed it.
