 * I only currently use the rating system as a means of quickly allocating images
to appear in my top rated album and I have this as a slide show on my home page.
 * Is there any way to do either of these:
    a) configure the top ten album so it
only includes pictures rated x and above where x is configurable b) remove a
rating set against a photo e.g. set it to zero.
 * a) would be ideal but I don;t know if this is possible.

 * a) a useful feature request, will be considered for a future revision.
 * b) you can remove all ratings in an entire album on the edit album screen.
    Removing
ratings for a single photo looks a bit like cheating? Pls explain the benefit
of this. If you can convince me i may be willing to implement it…

 * I agree. Option a would be the neatest way to do this and hopefully quite easy.
   Thanks for considering it.

 * Btw, you can set a limit number you want to see:
    from [http://wppa.opajaap.nl/shortcode-reference/](http://wppa.opajaap.nl/shortcode-reference/):
 * > #topten[,n][,m] An imaginary album containing the highest rated photos. May
   > optionally include albumnumber (n, 0 for systemwide) and number of photos(m)
   > if not the default as defined in the Settings admin page.

 * Yes I’ve found the setting for limiting the number of top ten. I’ve set it to
50 to be sure any picture I allocate a rating too are shown on the slideshow
   on my home page.
 * I want to be able to easily change which photos are included / excluded from
this virtual album. Maybe an additional album function can be provided called‘
virtual album’ whereby you can allocate some SQL to say what will be included/
excluded. I can imagine the user front end stuff to support that would be quite
hard work so hopefully something simpler is possible.
 * I would think it would be quite a useful feature to be able to have a virtual
album – basically all your favourite pics – in a slideshow on your front page
as it’s a great way to show off your work. But it is the sort of thing you need
to be able to adjust quite often.

 * Would it be an idea to make a virtual album selection of: all photos in the system
   with status ‘featured’ ?

 * Sorry for not replying more quickly.
 * Having thought about it I think option a above would do the job nicely for me
because that way I can display the top rated material really easily and I also
have a way to ensure photos rated e.g. 1 or 2 are not displayed.
 * In terms of a Virtual Album, I just found the option in Album Admin to copy selected
pictures to a different album so I would think this option would solve this niceley.
The only downside maybe if you are actually creating a physical copy when we
use this function as that would obviously affect disk space. I assume you don’t
do that and just create a virtual copy in the new album.

 * Update – just tried to copy some photos to a new album and the EXIF didn’t go
with it so that’s not a solution for me. So maybe a virtual album would be the
   way to go.

 * Ok I just found the new Featured photo function. This is nice but would it be
possible to have an option for the POTD to just use featured photos?

 * Do we find this being a bug?
 * > I assume you don’t do that and just create a virtual copy in the new album.
 * No, copying is copy the db entry and the photofiles. To prevent the possibility
of system inconsistency a (unique) photo-id can be in one album only.
 * > I just found the new Featured photo function
 * I made that because of this forum topic.
 * > would it be possible to have an option for the POTD
 * Is on the wishlist by now.

 * Regarding the copy function and EXIF data then yes I certainly think the EXIF
should be copied too. Otherwise there is no point using the copy function (unless
you don’t care about EXIF). Instead you would just have to upload it again into
   the new album.
 * Really great work again. The featured photo is perfect for many photographers
to pick out their best work to showcase on their home page.

 * Will be fixed in 5.0.11
