Top Header and Horizontal Menu

Hi,

I am preparing the necessary edits on a child theme of twenty fifteen to recreate this basic site (http://www.madguru.com) look from twenty twelve in a responsive theme.

The parts that I have not been able to figure out how to do in twenty fifteen are:

1. Put the header on top of the page, not the top of the side bar.

2. Place the main nav menu (horizontally) below the header and above the body instead of on the side bar vertically.

I have seen some tutorials and followed them but none have worked for me.
