Took people to the wrong country.

Sorry to hear your experience – if you could provide specific examples on where the wrong redirection happen, we’d be happy to work with you to resolve this.

This plugin is used by thousands of websites and we haven’t heard wrong redirection as being a problem ever, so a bit surprised by your comment and would really want to resolve this asap.

As of now, the plugin works on identifying the closest Amazon store country (geographically). As and when we get feedback from users on specific redirects that may make sense, we change that. An example is that Austria was being redirected to Italy because of geographical proximity, but then changed to Germany based on feedback (see here). We’d be happy to change the redirects if you have a specific suggestion.

This likely explains Virgin Island to US redirect. TBH, we don’t see much traffic from Virgin Islands anyways, so hopefully it is a small issue. Nevertheless, we will change it to go to US.

UK ging to US is very unlikely (though possible). We rely on external services to detect the location of visitor and they are highly accurate, but not foolproof. In one of cases, they provide us with bad information. It happens rarely (less than 0.01%).

Finally AU to Japan is a debatable one. We are trying to send visitors where you can earn Amazon commissions. AU does not have an affiliate program – so we direct them to Japan which is closest. This is a problem that we recognize and will make changes to send AU to AU even if that does not give any affiliate commissions.
