  • Hello,

I am sorry but for me at least you might need to explain a bit more what you mean.

It might also be better to ask a question with the plugin developers which will be through the plugins page here if it’s a .org plugin.

And what do you mean be, “I took out only the code for it”

This video is what I did , , It will not even take a image from the gallery . I am a telecom programmer by trade so A not so ‘Noob” lol

But this coding is new to me 😉

Thank s for the reply sir .

Oh, I get it. You mean you tried to nip out the credits in the footer. I didn’t watch the video but I am guessing that you just deleted some code. There is a chance that you deleted something critical. There is also a chance that things are a bit different in the theme you are using (2014?).

I think that you can also do this kind of thing with a function although I couldn’t write one. I bet you’ll find one written if you Google WordPress+themeName+remove+credits or something.

Yes sir you nailed it , My bad for not making a copy of the cut , I know better running WordPress 4.1 Twenty Fourteen theme.

    Thanks for the help .

You can reinstall the theme to fix that footer file. And BTW, don’t modify theme files except using a child theme

Cool , will the reinstall keep my contents ? If not I can live with out it ,till the next update. Thanks for the “safe mode” theme .

Your content is fine – reinstalling won’t touch that. You will lose any changes you made to theme files – but you’ll lose those anyway when you update WP – so make them again in a child theme.

Is below what I need to reinstall ?

    WordPress Updates

You have the latest version of WordPress. Future security updates will be applied automatically.

If you need to re-install version 4.1, you can do so here or download the package and re-install manually:

    Download 4.1

Oh sorry, no, you just need to reinstall the Twenty Fourteen – but to do that, switch to another theme first. Then delete twenty fourteen – and then reinstall it.

No that looks like the whole of WordPress.

    You only need the theme.

WordPress comes with three default themes I think. I think I would switch to another theme, delete the old TwentyFourteen and then reinstall it.

But you could also donwload the theme to your local machine, unzip it, locate the footer.php file and upload that to where it belongs using FTP.
