Support » Plugin: Webmention » Too much WebMention Goodness?

I’ve had various versions several of your WebMention work on my WP install including:
    WebMention (v2.3.3)
    WebMention for Comments (v1.0.0)
    WebMention form (v1.0.0-dev)

Now that there is an official “IndieWeb” plugin available that “rolls up” all of the available plugins, are all three of the above plugins still simultaneously necessary? I notice that the first is officially lives in WP while it appears that the other two are still resident on GitHub (and I don’t recall seeing them pop up via the “IndieWeb” plugin, but I could be wrong.) I’m not seeing collisions which result in errors, but thought I’d ask as there’s been so much ipressive progress in the IndieWeb/WordPress space in the past couple of months!

If there currently isn’t overlap, are there plans to add them into the primary WebMention plugin in the future?

Thanks as ever for your diligent and excellent work in this area!!!

    Hey Chris,

the WebMention plugin is the main plugin and I uploaded it to the WordPress directory, because it is fairly stable and implements the complete WebMention spec. The other plugins are kind of extensions that aren’t stable yet or not part of the latest spec.

    • WebMention for comments implements WebMentions for threaded comments. It should work fairly well, but I have not enough results if it is working correctly (perhaps I can try it against one of your posts 😉 )
    • WebMention form is only showing a form so users that run a site without WebMention support can ping your post manually: https://adactio.com/journal/6469/

So you can run all plugins at the same time without any problems. Let me know if you still have some questions.

I am glad you like the plugin and thanks for your review too 🙂

Thanks! I’m happy to help bang on features that need testing. Just let me know.
