Too much spacing, can't find in CSS

  • I’m trying to remove some space between the header as well as the post title, the post title and the post entry.

    I’ve looked through the CSS and changed what I thought would fix it, but I’m obviously missing something.

    Any ideas? I’ve downloaded Firebug, and it’s about as useful as a screendoor on a submarine for me because it won’t work properly…

    http://www.aggiebands.com/hhs is the website address.

    Try the padding here:

    .entry-content, .entry-summary {
        padding: 1.625em 0 0;
    }

    BTW, best to use a custom CSS option or plug-in or a child theme for any changes to your theme files.

    That got the post entry closer to the post title! Thanks.

    I am using a child theme. The primary theme is twenty eleven which is unedited.

    Okay, just be aware that if and when you update the theme, your changes may be overwritten.

    I’d use this method:

    header {
    	margin-bottom: 20px;
    }

    Where is the header ID in that page? And the OP is trying to reduce the space, not increase it.

    I’m confused…you’re saying I will lose changes if the twenty eleven theme updates even though I’m using a child theme? I thought that was the point of child themes…to preserve changes.

    Yes, and no. That depends. So, do you still need help with this?
