Hi marialexie1008
the redirects are something funky happening on a 404 error. It is trying to redirect to http://marialexie1008.scribblesofap6tcher.net/erms40x/404.php
The books pages should be using a permalink.
Go to settings -> permalinks, choose “Post name” and press save.
You should then be able to access the books page from the slug you entered in wp-admin.
Let me know if you have any more problems.
Cheers
Ben
Hi Ben,
I did that and the error was gone. But I now get the 404 error. I tried http://marialexie1008.scribblesofap6tcher.net/wordpress/books and it shows the book archives. I also tried changing “books” to “genre” and “author”, I got the 404 error too.
Do I need to change the settings for the slugs again?
Thank you for being patient with me.
Regards,
Maria P.
Did you try refreshing the permalinks ( go to the permalink page and press save ) after you changed them?
Cheers
Ben
Yes, I selected the “Post Name” option in the permalinks settings and saved it. When I did that, I was able to view the Books archives page which is here: http://marialexie1008.scribblesofap6tcher.net/wordpress/books. I also wanted to see the author, genre and series archives page. Is there? Or the pages are specific to each item? Like if I have the genre Science (slug=science-2), will there be a page for genre archives in http://marialexie1008.scribblesofap6tcher.net/wordpress/genre or a specific page for the genre science in http://marialexie1008.scribblesofap6tcher.net/wordpress/genre/science-2?
Thanks!
Maria P.

The books and the genre, author and categories work a little differently to each other.
For example, if you set the slugs as such:
Books Archive Slug - "books"
Author Archive Slug - "authors"
Genre Archive Slug - "genres"
Series Archive Slug - "series"
You would be able to access the book archive at /books, but /authors, /genres, /series would all 404 unless you setup pages with those URL’s.
For the taxonomies, you would be able to access the archive at /genre/action for example would list all the books in the “action” genre.
The plugin has defaults built in,
“books” for the books archive,
“tb-author” for the author (“author” is reserved in WordPress for post authors and caused some very erratic behaviour),
“series” for the series
and “genre” for the genre
Please let me know if this has not cleared up your question.
Cheers

Oh ok… I got it. I was looking for a “genre” page, which I now understand doesn’t exist, right? so a wordpress/tb-genre URL would give me a 404 error. instead, I should look for the specific taxonomy – wordpress/tb-genre/science.
Thanks a million! Cleared up everything, I think!
The plugin is really awesome!
