    Hi everybody !
Skuze me for my english : I’m French!

I hpe you will understand me and I will find an answer.

I am having a problem with the inbound counter (yoast seo) in my WP.
I only have about 30 pages (pages + articles) in my WP and yet I have pages and articles showing me more than 500 internal inbound links (the outgoing internal links have not moved).

I can see this display in the “all my articles” and “all my pages” overview.
I did two scans of my WP with two plugins : Antimalware securite and Malcure WP Malware Scanner. Neither of them recognise any files known to be infected (only 5 potentials for the firt one but the plugin warned me that these were probably false warniings).

I navigate well on my site.
And inside. I can connect on without problem.

If I check the indexing of my site in Google, this last one returns me only my known pages and articles.

My database is not overloaded. Same for my hosting.

I was told that it could simply come from the link counter even if I have never had this problem with Yoast before !

Can you tell me if someone has concerned by the same problem ?
Or if you know : what is causing this ?

Thank you for your help and kind responses.

    Hello David,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please confirm that you have Yoast SEO 15.5 and WordPress 5.6? Also, have you run the SEO Data Optimization Tool in WordPress > SEO > Tools?

    Thanks for your answer!
I confirm you I have the latest version of WP and Yoast.
And when Yoast ask me to click to optimise data SEO, I do it! And his message is “your data SEO has been optimised”

    Hello David,

We are unable to reproduce this in Yoast SEO 15.5 and WordPress 5.6. Also, by running the SEO data optimization tool, incoming links should be accurate.

Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Thanks for the answer.
I am gonna do it and I will tell you
I don’t think there is a conflict because I have got others sites which have the same theme and the same plugin and they do the same thing.
Do you think a hack is possible?

Sorry, I read your link about conflict between plugins. I would like to use the plugin to success and find eventually them on the WP concerned but in the article it’s written not to do it on a site on line 😕

Can I do it without trouble?

    Thanks for your answer

    Hi!
I deactivate all plugin except Yoast and the same thing produced 😕
There is no conflicts with theme Ocean WP, I use it with Yoast on others sites.
If the error comes from Yoast, must I delete it?
I would prefer keep it 😑
    I don’t understand 🤞

    Hi David!

Our product team will assess the severity of this problem in relation to other open bug reports and new features. Based on their assessment, the bug report will be given a priority. Our developers work on the highest priority issues first. Unfortunately, this means we cannot give you an estimate when they’ll start working on your report.
