Too many ads, the plugin will not limit to 3

    Hi. I’ve checked the box for limiting to 3 Adsense ads, but it still does not limit the number of ads. I usually get 7-8 ads in each post, which I think is too spammy and ruins the user experience.

    Hi havardkrislok,

    thanks for reaching out.

    I see that you are using Google Auto ads on your site.

    The “limit to 3 ads” option does indeed not work with Google Auto ads.

    There is no technical solution to control the number, position, or size of Google Auto ads.

    If you want to get this control back you can create and place AdSense ad units manually as I describe in this tutorial.

    Thank you, very helpful. Will I need to do anything to remove the “auto ads code” previously inserted? Or will the auto ads plugin automatically update the code when I turn off auto ads in Adsense and manually insert ads?

    Hi havardkrislok,

    the Auto ads code on your site stays the same with or without Auto ads enabled in your AdSense account.

    You should only consider that changes in your AdSense account might take up to 30 minutes. E.g., when you switch off Auto ads there and keep the code on your site, it will take a few minutes until Auto ads stop showing up.
