Too long list in drop-down menu

    Hi,

    We have two drop-down menu items on the site, but the drop-down list is very long. Is it possible to shorten the list without removing the pages from the drop-down menu? I want 5/6 items to be visible when hovering, the rest will appear when pressing/hovering on the arrow below these items. The first menu item I want to shorten is a standard one added by “appearance-menus”, and the second is a WPML module with language selection on the page (in both cases are about 20 options to select when hovered over).

    Hi there,

    In your case, I recommend using a menu plugin like Max Mega Menu: https://wordpress.org/plugins/megamenu/. It will allow you to customize the menu so it won’t show all menus at once.

    Hi @ks0605 !

    One solution, without having to do some custom code, could be creating a submenu called “More Languages” and adding the rest of them there. That way you will have the “hover” functionality out of the box.

    Does this module work with WPML? I would also like to shorten the drop-down list of languages.

    Were you referring to the compatibility of the Mega Menu plugin that was referred above, or were you referring to the navigation block in the WordPress site editor?

    I would recommend that you reach out to the respective plugin developers to find out whether the plugins are interoperable with each other. I am also not sure how WPML works with the Site Editor in WordPress, I’d recommend reaching out to their support to find out more.
