# Tons of database errors, please help!

 * On my site [http://www.rapnews.co.uk](http://www.rapnews.co.uk) when I try selecting
   some of the review categories, this error appears:
 * WordPress database error: [Got error 134 from table handler]
    SELECT DISTINCT*
   FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_post2cat ON (wp_posts.ID = wp_post2cat.post_id) WHERE
   1=1 AND (category_id = 10 OR category_id = 13 OR category_id = 14 OR category_id
   = 15 OR category_id = 16 OR category_id = 17) AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2005-06-28
   08:31:59’ AND (post_status = “publish”) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date
   DESC LIMIT 0, 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999
 * When in the WordPress control panel, and clicking manage, this text appears:
 * WordPress database error: [Got error 127 from table handler]
    SELECT * FROM wp_posts
   WHERE 1=1 AND (post_status = “publish” OR post_author = 2 AND post_status != ‘
   draft’ AND post_status != ‘static’) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC
   LIMIT 0, 15
 * I am very inexperienced when it comes to Word Press and my designer has stopped
   helping me. I’ve run a phpadmin repair, but that hasn’t helped at all.
 * I haven’t changed or even viewed any code so I don’t know why this would suddenly
   happen!

 * Have you emailed your hosting company ? This sounds like more than a simple one-
   off error.
 * The very next thing I would do if this was mine would be to backup the database.
   It can still be done.

 * the hosting company is nothing to do with the content of my webspace. they merely
   provide me with the space. what would you suggest i ask them?

 * Woah…. yes they are.
 * You pay them for webspace, and you pay them for the database and any other tools.
   If they said “Hey, host with us – look we’ve got all this broken stuff for you
   to not get a site working” you would not have paid them would you ?
    They advertise
   a service and part of that is for everything to work – I would mail them all 
   the errors and ask them to fix the database. I very very much doubt it is a WP
   error – a repair would have sorted that. They have tools which they can use to
   examine stuff and diagnose problems – it’s why we pay hosts.
 * DO backup FIRST though.
