• Some glitches here still. A pause button would be useful as I’ve already had to cancel bulk compression because of server overload. Another useful feature would be the ability to choose Media by date. For some reason compression started on my images first uploaded in 2009. I really wanted to compress images uploaded in the past year only.
I’ve checked my cPanel and a backup file now exists but when I restarted ShortPixel is started again from the beginning not from where the plugin was interrupted.
I’ve yet to see a compressed image on my site so can’t really say yest just how good compression might be. (it looked good on the url test on ShortPixel site). I’ve not deactivated this plugin yet, I’m still hopeful. My Library contains about 550 images. No buttons are visible in the media Library except the Bulk button…

Hi, thanks for your input, we’ve learned a lot from it!

The bulk compression takes a lot of time, and a pause button does makes sense. It would also prevent starting the process all over again. Feature noted!

The crunching starts with your first images, and crawls up to the most recent ones. We recommend a little patience as, in the end, we want to ensure users with fully optimised websites.

For testing out the compressed image quality, you don’t have to wait for the bulk process to complete. After plugin installation, new images uploaded to the site are optimised automatically. So you can check the lossy/lossless compression with new images, on the spot.

We’re working hard to bring more features to ShortPixel, so keep in touch!

    Hello again,

Just a quick update to let you know we introduced the ‘Pause processing’ feature in the Bulk compression page, like you suggested.

Also, did you get the chance to review the compresison results? Wondering how did the ShortPixel optimization work and if you found out the answer to your Shakespearean question 🙂

    Thanks for your support!
