This function returns the Titlized version of a string, meaning that it uppercases the first letter of all words except for articles such as “a” and “the”, prepositions such as “of”, “in”, “on”, “during”, and “between”, and conjunctions such as “and” and “with” that are not the first word.
For example, titlize("this is rock and roll baby") would return This Is Rock and Roll Baby.

Feel free to implement it in WordPress if it’s good enough. I’d be very pleased.

  • I think this, like ALA “Nice Titles” if I can remember, are a nice idea but are rather annoying and too obstructive. There should be a nicer way to use it, with for example a subtle background with opacity, something like this…

except for the prepositions, css works well in place of a complete function!

    <span style="text-transform: capitalize;">this is rock and roll baby</span>
i mentioned the part abt preposition.

this would be nice in the post title area… as an option though, b.c i can envision this also becoming annoying

Oh yeah Sushubh, I see; but it’s just not the same.
@rpeek: /me thinks so too. I’d be my pleasure to see it implemented in WordPress somehow…
