sep means separator f.e. – | > etc. This is defined in your <title> on header.php

So which template should i use for best seo results

Depend of your posts and content. For me good works title – category – site-name. But again will say depend from what type of content you have and how long are your post titles.

my site is http://ecoventi.co.uk/ could u tell me what best suits me

As I see your site it would be quite good title | Sitename.
But first go to your header.php and change <title>whatever is here</title> in <title><?php wp_title(”); ?></title>

You have your sitename twice and i thing this is the reason.

Sorry did not get back but having money problems & my internet got cut off, back up & running again now

    I have looked my header.php but cant find <title>whatever is here</title> in <title><?php wp_title(”); ?></title>

    here is my header.php

    please help

I thnk the previous poster was saying that all the code from <title> to </title> which in your header.php has lots of echo statements and ‘if’ statements should be changed to be just this <title><?php wp_title(”); ?></title>

Make a backup of the file before editing it so you cna restore it if necessary.

I edited my header file the way you said & site still loads up okay

    Toshi should i now change my template from %%title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%% to %%title%%%%sitename%%

Thanks for replying by the way toshi & also thanks to wellbeingtips from earlier.

You can make the template anything you like – Personally I’d include the separator tag eg %%title%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%
