Titles being inserted as captions??

    Hi Team – see screenshot:

    I’m trying really hard to use and like the Gutenbuerg editor / backend of the last few reelased of WP – but they just make it sooooooooooooo hard.

    When I copy and paste into the Title field here, instead of adding a title, it chooses to add the string (in this case Municipal) into some other box (see screenshot).

    WHY is it doing this?
    And how do I stop this?

    Hi, sorry that the editor isn’t working as you would expect. I agree that behavior is weird.

    However, I just tried it and in my case it works correctly. Maybe it’s because the text you copied had some HTML markup? Could you specify where you copied the text from?

    If you type a word into a text editor, copy it, and paste it into the title does it behave in the same way?

    You are correct – was copying and pasting from a formatted Excel cell.
    And also, you are correct – if I paste the texted from Excell –> Editplus –> WordPress, it works.
