• I have auto create title tag enabled but I’d like to sometimes tweak the auto generate text a little.

As soon as I try to edit the grayed out text it disappears and I have to type it all over again. Couldn’t we have it fill the box with real text then I could go and edit small parts of it. Perhaps a little button to say paste in or populate the field with editable text ???? Perhaps I can do this and am missing how? 🙂

    Hello!

The text is a placeholder — I added the greying and blurring to clearly visualize you are overwriting it.

But, thus far, I found no accessible way to have users copy in the placeholder for editing. This feature was requested back in 2016 already: https://github.com/sybrew/the-seo-framework/issues/27.

I am no fan of cluttering the interface with bells and whistles, and a button to copy text would remain unused by most users (and be seen as noise). The best idea I had introducing this was to add a pencil icon to the side, but some browsers already render other icons in text fields, so this would inevitably cause visual glitches.

Still, I am open to suggestions.

Thanks for getting back to me and explaining how it works. I just jumped from Yoast to SEO framework . I really just needed something to fill out the title tag and meta description tag on a new site I built! I will also use it on my old blog (from 2006) that has about 300 posts. Perhaps I can let it do its thing, SEO framework slurp in all the Yoast data and then just edit the fields in the table the MySql database.
