    Hi there,

    I am trying to add a featured image with a page title overlaid over the top of it to the main events page (the autogenerated one). I am using the
    get_the_title();
    function to return the page title. It strangely returns one of the post titles which are listed on the page rather than the title as it displays.

    Here is the page in question for upcoming performances:
    http://test.karlanorton.co.nz/wordpress/performances/
    The text in white should read ‘Upcoming Performances’ as in the element further down the page:

    <h2 class=”tribe-events-page-title”>Past Performances</h2>

    And here is the page in question for past performances:
    http://test.karlanorton.co.nz/wordpress/performances/list/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=past
    Similarly, the text in white should read ‘Past Performances’

    Any ideas how to solve this?

    Thanks
    Chris

  • OK – the second I posted this – I discovered the function: tribe_get_events_title();

    Now I have a weird problem – the titles in white change perfectly when using the main menu for navigation. When using the links on the page which say ‘next performances’ and ‘previous performances’ the titles in white don’t update.

    Cheers

    Hello,

    Refer to our Altering or removing titles on calendar views tutorial for information relative to your request.

    I’m sorry but I’m not 100% certain I understand your issue. Can you be a bit more descriptive and possibly include links and/or screenshots? Does the behavior occur when reverting back to the default WP theme and deactivate all plugins other than TEC? Refer to our Testing for conflicts guide for more info.

    If this is a style/customization request, we’re unfortunately unable to accommodate those types of threads. Keep me updated and we’ll go from there. Thanks 🙂

    Hi there,

    So I think my question was not very good and I’ve since done quite a bit of research into this. Here is a complete description of the problem:

    I am using tribe_get_events_title(); to generate a second copy of the title which appears as white text over a full width image (created using generatepress). See the url below:

    https://www.karlanorton.co.nz/performances/

    Now this works great when you first navigate to the page or if you refresh the page form the browser. However, when you use any of the ajax links (e.g. previous performances) or buttons which only do a partial refresh of the page, the function doesn’t re-run and so you are left with the title in white which is no longer appropriate to the content being shown.

    Any ideas how to get this working?

    Thanks so much!
    Chris

    Hey Chris,

    Thanks for posting, glad like our plugin, & I’m happy to help.:)

    This kind of request would require some customization. We have some resources for doing that here. If you need to find someone to help with the customizations, we also have some tips for finding help here. Unfortunately though, this is outside the scope of the free forum support provided here. We use this forum to answer questions and provide assistance regarding current features of our plugins, and field bug reports.

    Hope this helps & thanks for understanding!

    Thanks,
