 * Hello,
 * I use Slim SEO 4.11.2 with WordPress 7.1 and the block editor, and I’d like to
   suggest an improvement to the link popover.
 * When I insert or edit a link in a paragraph, a “Title attribute” field appears
   and is automatically prefilled with the title of the linked page. It sits alongside
   the nofollow / sponsored / ugc toggles. I confirmed that these additions come
   from Slim SEO: when I deactivate the plugin, they disappear, and a fresh WordPress
   install only shows “Open in new tab”, “Mark as nofollow” and “Additional CSS
   class(es)”.
 * The problem is that a title attribute that just repeats the link text is considered
   redundant and discouraged for accessibility (it only shows on mouse hover, and
   some screen readers read it twice). Accessibility checkers such as WAVE flag
   it, so I have to clear the field on every new link.
 * Could you consider one of these options?
    - a setting to disable the title field in the link popover,
    - leaving the field empty by default instead of prefilling it,
    - or removing the field and keeping only the rel options.
 * The rel options (nofollow, sponsored, ugc) are very useful, so I’d keep those.
 * Thank you for the plugin and for your time.

 * [@rilwis](https://wordpress.org/support/users/rilwis/) I don’t like this feature.
   Can you just add a toggle switch where the title can be automatically added or
   not?
 * Believe it or not it’s super inconvenient for me.

 * [@harmonyous](https://wordpress.org/support/users/harmonyous/) What did you mean“
   don’t like”? Do you want the title to be auto inserted or not?

 * [@rilwis](https://wordpress.org/support/users/rilwis/) The title is no longer
   being auto inserted now. it literally became just the address. That’s what I
   don’t like. I need the original one, the one before the update. I don’t want
   to type the “title” everytime I insert a post or a page link.
 * Edit: I guess it wasn’t clear. it basically like this
   Before the update<a href
   =”[https://domain.com/how-to-make-this”>How](https://domain.com/how-to-make-this”>How)
   to make this</a>After the update<a href=”[https://domain.com/how-to-make-this”>https://domain.com/how-to-make-this</a&gt](https://domain.com/how-to-make-this”>https://domain.com/how-to-make-this</a&gt);
   This means I have to edit the URL everytime.

 * I got it. Did you only click the insert link button and select a post? I mean
   you didn’t highlight a text first and insert link into that text, did you?

 * I’ve always been just “typing the title” when inserting a link and click it from
   there. It will automatically place the page or post title with link in it. After
   the update, it will just show the clickable raw URL. It means I’ll have to type
   the title attribute everytime now. That’s very inconvenient.
