I have been trying – for half a day now- to upgrade my b2-blog (12Mb database) to WordPress, but the way it has been described in the wiki just doesn’t seem to work. I have tried all the suggestions there as well but none of them seems to work fine.
It is sad that a wonderful piece of software has such a minimal upgrade from b2. This isn’t meant to diss the developers, but since the rest of all installations work just so easy, it is sad that there is not a single working b2 upgrade procedure with the smell of authority.
From a neutral point of view: Isn’t it possible to write a script that installs WP and pulls data from the old b2 tables as well at the same time? Or a script that converts the b2 tables to wp data format so that you can export it, install WP and import the data?
I haven’t read the code to check what the upgrade pages do exactly so if this is yet another useless post, I’m sorry. If there is a foolproof upgrade tool, I didn’t find it.
