Tip – How to Make LSC Faster
-
Been using LS for a couple years. It’s a great product. But WP Site Health always nagged, urging the use of a “persistent object cache”. So, I searched around and found an article of how to use this cache setting without upgrading my hosting plan.
**Host must have LiteSpeed installed on their server for this to work. **The LSC Plugin must be setup on your wp site. Try “Advanced” setting preset with no other tweaks.
So, if your host has LS installed on their end and you have the free plugin installed in your WP and are using the free Quic.Cloud CDN LS Option, do the following to make your site load significantly faster:
*LiteSpeed’s Quic.Cloud free CDN addon is awesome as it enables a lightweight CDN that can really speed up page loading. see my note at bottom for stress free setup.
- Download/Install APCu Manager plugin. Make sure all the essential boxes are checked: Object Cache, Admin Bar, and Quick Actions (CDN ie; your Quic.Cloud is up and running)- I checked all the boxes except the Metrics one.
- Goto into your WP LSC plugin and goto to Cache settings page and turn ON “Object Cache”. That’s it. My host doesn’t have the Memcached Extension or the Redis Extension enabled for my site but the APCu manager plugin works around this. Try it. Sped my site up and boosted my Pagespeed scores. I was high before but now getting 100s across the board happens daily(when my host isn’t sluggish).
Anyway, yeah, glad I searched “How To Enable Persistent Object Cache On WordPress” and found a gem article by Meer Basit: (My settings are still on Memcached disabled. The article pix = Redis, but I don’t think it matters.
Final Thought: If you haven’t setup Quic.Cloud CDN you should. It’s not rocket science. You just have to copy the DNS settings they provide and drop them into, and replace, those settings that are located in your Host’s control panel under DNS Settings. It can take a while to convert all your images from .png or .jpg to .webp but it’s well worth it performance wise and it’s free. –Cheers
