Support » Plugin: TinyMCE Advanced » TinyMCE – Table borders not working

I’m setting up a new website and am new to WordPress. I’m using:
    – WordPress 4.9.6
    – Theme = Twenty Twelve
    – Editor = TinyMCE Advanced V4.7.11

All is going well except for tables. I can insert a table and change many of its properties (e.g. background colour). But I can’t change the “Border style”. TinyMCE lets me select Solid, Dashed, Ridged etc., but the change doesn’t actually show up when I preview the page.

Is the Twenty Twelve theme overriding me? And, if so, is there some Additional CSS I could use to override Twenty Twelve?

Are you using the Edge Browser? If you are then I suggest you try using Chrome – I’ve had various problems with the latest versions of WordPress and TinyMCE when using Edge – I guess something changed with the last big Microsoft Update to Win 10. When I reluctantly switched to Chrome the problems went away.

Chrome, Edge and IE all fail to display the table border properly, so I don’t think it’s a browser issue.

OK you may be right for your issue but it certainly made my image editing/positioning issue go away, and the problem only started after the 1803 upgrade. I think there are a couple of updates to TinyMCE pending but I haven’t seen a date for them yet, one of which addresses an image related issue, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will allow me to go back to Edge.

Right, there were some problems with editing tables in the previous versions. Should be fixed in WP 4.9.8 and TinyMCE 4.8.0.
