tinyMCE limited / no real html editing (7 posts)

The current tags in TinyMCE inside WP 2.0 RC1 are quite limited and you cannot do a lot of things finally. It could be ok if the html editor was a real editor but in fact it is poor and do not accept changes TinyMCE does not recognise... E.g. I wnat to put an acronym, how can I do it? through html editor it simply reject it (without saying anything)...
Is there plugin to update TinyMCE or to enhance the html editor?

No misunderstandings here, I find the WYSIWYG style/editor really great and useful...

I did some google research and found this about extending the TinyMCE in WP:

The spanish link is the more complete one, i'll try it this afternoon and will give a try to the tables plugin also.

    No dice with this...
anyone knows how to get it right?
Add all the buttons from TinyMCE and how to enable plugins such as the tables plugin?

*update* it works in IE but not on firefox 1.5 ...weird?

I'm not big on WYSIWYG's, but a client of mine asked me something similar last night. He wants to have a way to switch back and forth between a visual and text editor while composing a post (without having to go back and forth changing his profile/options).
