    Hmm, maybe it’s too late but the /editor/ page just shows the front page now.

    If the theme (or you) use the default WP editor setup, TinyMCE Advanced should be able to enhance it. It uses the filters on the default editor setup. To test, add some logging (or simply echo 'works!'; exit;) to the tiny_mce_before_init filter and see what happens. It should show when you load the editor on the front-end.
