I have always been able to access the Post Snippets from the editor within the Maps Marker plugin. The Maps Marker editor uses the same functionality as the main WordPress editor. With the update to 2.4 the Post Snippets button in the Maps Marker Visual and Text Editor has disappeared. The button still works as required in the main WordPress editor.

Rollback to 2.3.8 restores the correct functionality to both editors. Without Post Snippets in the Maps Marker editor, or any other plugin editor for that matter, my work has become all that much harder.

This was actually done by design, to avoid conflicts with some other plugins. Though since this change I’ve considered the impact a bit and I’ve come to the conclusion that it was not in the best interest of post snippets. If other plugins do weird things with the system, they should probably be updated instead to follow the guidelines.

Anyway, my plan is to restore it to be available everywhere in WordPress by default, and add the current functionality that limits it to only post edit screens as an option. Look out for the next minor update coming soon to have this implemented.

    Cheers,
    Johan

Areness, Post Snippets v2.5 will be out today, which will have the button restored in custom editors.

    Cheers,
    Johan
