  • WP: 3.2.1
    Tiny MCE Advanced: 3.4.2.1

In the past, when we created an anchor on a page, in WP editor window it would show an anchor icon so that anyone editing could see where the anchor was placed. For some reason, that icon doesn’t show anymore when we add an anchor.

Has anyone have the same issue and/or fix?

  • I have the same issue. Anyone? It makes it easy for someone to accidentally delete the anchor when it shows up in the editor as a blank space.

I’m also not sure why WordPress doesn’t include the anchor in the editor by default anyway.

It appears that ‘items.gif’ is missing in the folder wp-includes\js\tinymce\themes\advanced\skins\wp_theme\img – you can copy this file from wp-includes\js\tinymce\themes\advanced\skins\default\img – your anchors will show up again.

There is another problem, however: the anchors cannot be moved or deleted in the WYSIWYG editor, only way seems to be the code editor…
