Support » Plugin: Media Cleaner - Clean & Optimize Space » Times out on a problem site

I have an offline version of a site on my SSD running in Apache and PHP 7.2.1 (MAMP) and have used the default settings and the values 1, 1, 1, and 5000 for “Medias buffer”, “Posts buffer”, “Analysis buffer” and Delay respectively. Yet, Media Cleaner just keeps timing out. There’s no log even as I activated that.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

You should contact your hosting service, ask them to extend the PHP timeout or… get a better server. I know that’s not super helpful but unfortunately, there is no other way. You could also disable many of your plugins, as each of them adds running time to each process. Just make sure you don’t disable plugins such as ACF or the Page Builders, which has an impact of the Media Cleaner detection.

@tigroumeow thanks. Just to clarify this is MY server on my desktop which I think had a very large time-out set. However, I’ve changed PHP version somewhat recently, so must check this anew. No doubt this web site has performance issues, which is one reason why I wanted to use Media Cleaner in the first place. Naturally I turned off all plug-ins that I could, which didn’t make any difference.

I activated some logs. but as nothing happens very little was logged. Nothing useful anyway. Now, I’m rebuilding the site, so Media Cleaner will have to wait. I’ll report if I have an improved experience later.

    Thanks again, Jordy!
