I have a site I’ve inherited used bnfw that is trying to send about 240 notifications at a time. Only about half get through.

I suspect that the php max execution time is being exceeded. (I see that in a recent notification pass, but don’t always see it). The hosting provider only allows a 60 second max execution time.

I don’t see this happen when testing with a staging server and my own SMTP server and local delivery address. I do see it when live either using gmail or mailgun via the PostSMTP plugin.

Do you have any suggestion other than finding a host who will allow a longer max execution time? Can bnfw maintain a queue and cron like check on it?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi @jonr83,
    Thanks for your message.

I recommend any host that will allow you to upgrade or downgrade your package without much issue, whilst also giving you access to more granular settings, such as PHP execution time. Cloudways or SpinupWP should be suitable, with Spinup being slightly more cmplicated to set-up but possible slightly better. It’s worth asking their support if they’re able to advise on what can and can’t be done prior to signing-up though.

Hope this helps – let me know how you get on.
