Time out with big product database

We have 16K products in our database. Permalink Manager needs more that 60 seconds to complete the regeneration. But our hosting provider kills jobs that run over 60 seconds. So Permalink Manager times out with a 502 error. If we turn off the timer completely Permalink Manager still times out, this time after about 3 mins with a 500 error. With small databases it works fine. This could be solved by making it easier for the user to select smaller batches. e.g. Could you put a filter on the UI to select a range of product IDs or some other field, so one could regenerate urls in batches of say 1000 at at time, or by category? In principal this works fine, for example If I manually change some products from published to “draft”, and only regenerate “draft” everything works fine. But with 16K products manual isn’t practical.
