Support » Plugin: Rotating Tweets (Twitter widget and shortcode) » Time/ Hour / Date of tweet (simple format)?

  • Resolved iwednesday

    I know you are able to show the date of tweets using the show_meta_timestamp =
    short code but this is too much information.

    Is is possible to show in a more simple format …

    [1] “This is a example tweet ” 2h ago
    [2] “Great tweet the other day ” 1m ago
    [3] “That image circulating twitter is lame” 22 Aug

    An example of what i am talking about can be seen at the following website:

    Have you tried official_format='2'? It comes quite close to doing what you want.

    Longer term, it might be useful to have allow people to do something customisable like:

    [rotatingtweets layout='{maintext} {short_date}']

    which allows people to put in exactly the information they want in the format and order they want!

    I would suggest going with official_format='2', and then adding

    div.rtw_meta {
       display: none;

    to your template CSS or in /wp-content/uploads/rotatingtweets.css.

    This should replicate the Patrice Muamba site exactly.
