Thumbs stack, should be side by side

    I just uploaded a couple of pictures with the default handler. Chose file, OK, comes up in browse, default of show thumb and link to file is perfect. Send to editor, save.
    Viewed my page and the results were of the two thumbs on top of each other instead of side by side. I did a view source n the page in Safari and sure enough there was a
    inserted.

    I did double check my code and no br tag in my code edit window. I did look for an option to turn this off. I know I have seen this where the thumbs line up horizontally. How do I make these line up horizontally?

    I checked every tab to see if this is a deselectable option to add a BR after any link automatically. I can see the advantage to this say in a blogroll. A thumbnail link with this break afterwards.
    Is this a situation where I need to modify or create a template?
