Support » Plugin: Image Regenerate & Select Crop » thumbs for auto-scaled images in WP 5.3 are misnamed

In the upcoming WP 5.3, it auto-scales over-sized images to 2560 (width or height), and appends 2560 to the filename (the exact naming syntax is still being finalized). From what I can tell, IRSC does it’s own custom regeneration process, and ends up naming the “new” thumbs after filename-2560.jpg rather than just filename.jpg. WP itself generates thumbs from the original filename.jpg, thus it would name a thumb filename-150×150.jpg, whereas IRSC will name it filename-2560-150×150.jpg, abandoning the existing filename-150×150.jpg and leaving it on disk.
You can find the original uploaded file under the ‘original_image’ index of the attachment metadata.

I am marking this a resolved, the sub-sizes are named as expected. Please open another thread if you find something else now working right.
