thumbnails missing alt tags

I am using the latest wordpress 3.8.1 and i ahvent made any changes to wordpress popular post plugins. However the extension is missing the alt tags for the thumbnails, see example: <img src=”http://www.magiclogix.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/7-trends-2014-708×393.png” alt=””>
