After updating to the most recent version of wordpress my google photos gallery thumbnails now look like they are squished. If I change to one of the default wordpress themes the problem goes away. This problem is happening on ios devices, in both safari and chrome, as well as on osx when using safari. Works in all other places.

I’ve reached out to the dev for the theme I am using but have not heard any word back yet. Thought I would also post here for thoughts?

    Thanks

Nothing has changed in Photonic for Google Photos for over a year, so the last update shouldn’t impact you. Please provide a URL if you would like me to troubleshoot.

I am almost certain that is coming from your theme – something might be forcing the height to be 100% for images.

Thank you for taking a look and giving me feedback. Hopefully the theme author can help me with a solution in css to resolve it.

In Safari, on OSX, I was able to set the height to “auto” for “.photonic-random-layout .photonic-thumb a img” and this looks to resolve it at least for Safari in OSX. Can I add this entry to my own child theme style and overide the min style being used?

Yes, you can add it to your child theme. Alternatively, you can add it via the standard WP option under Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS.
