Support » Fixing WordPress » Thumbnails are not working with the new update

  • i am using new version of wordpress, fresh installation without any plugin or themes. But still i cant see my thumbnails on homepage and sometimnes not in the posts. But the image links works fine. I am facing this for last 2 weeks with new wordpress update. I have tried all thumbnail plugins, but none of them seems to be working. If i use featured image then wordpress is maximizing the size of the image which makes the image become blur. Kindly fix this.

Please describe your hosting. It seems to me that (1) you do not have php-gd installed and/or (2) imagemagick is missing or (3) there is insufficient memory for WordPress or (4) there are file system issues where WP needs to create temp files.

check the system error logs and make sure you have GD installed and you have sufficient disk space left.

    Thread Starter Roy Miller

i have installed GD, zero error logs, 250MB free memory, 16GB disk space left out of 20GB.

but still i cant see thumbnail….is it only my problem or other persons are also facing the same issue….or it might be DigitalOCean hosting problem?

It has nothing to do with D.O.; they just give you a machine.

If you look in wp-conten/uploads, so you see the base images as well as the various sizes of each?

    Thread Starter Roy Miller

    (@11assets)

Yes, i am seeing base thumbnails which are blank…its not fetching the image i am uploading…each and every theme has the same problem.

So this site was working in this location and all you did between when it was working and now is upgrade to 4.6.1? If so, please re-do the the update from dashboard->updates.

its a new site, so the installation is fresh, so its the new version of wordpress i am facing the problem. I have tried reinstalling wordpress and tried different ways 100 times over the last 2 weeks, nothing works.

Please, no. NEVER offer access to your site to ANYONE on these forums.

Tell me how your host is configured. What OS? Are you using mod_security?

    Thread Starter Roy Miller

    (@11assets)

then give me your email iD, then i will send you only website name…not the access code.

    I have tried ubuntu 16, centos 7…..not Mod_security?

using Serverpilot control panel…and also used standard wordpress install without control panel…but not working.

No, please. No contact outside the forums. What happens on the forums *stays* on the forums.

It seems to me that you do not have your server configured correctly. I’ll ask some other folks to take a look.

what i do is just install serverpilot, then wordpress which worked perfectly till now for last 1 year…then i suspected that it might be serverpilot issue…then i switched to DigitalOcean default wordpress auto install…but i found the same problem…its not server issue..its wordpress issue.

Serverpilot support also looked at my site and they also told me that its wordpress issue.

By any chance is it related to cloudflare..coz i am using cloudflare.
