[resolved] Thumbnail size confusion (4 posts)

    Hi, I'm trying out YARPP, which looks great, but I'm stuck on thumbnails.

    Our default image is 200 by 152, so I wanted to change the 120x120 to that (or something proportional, like 120x90).

    According to your FAQ page, I should add something to the theme's functions.php file.

    add_image_size('yarpp-thumbnail', 200, 152, true);

    I tried slapping it in there, but it didn't seem to do anything. Does it matter where in the functions file this goes? Is the semi-colon part of it? Do I need to alter anything else? I'm using the default thumbnails setting at the moment. (Do I need to use custom?)

    I read some other posts on this thumbnails topic but am not sure how to proceed.

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    You do need to be a little careful about adding code to functions.php because you don't want to add it to the middle of a function, for example. At the end of the file might be safest.

    After adding the add_image_size code, you need to regenerate WP thumbnails, and we recommend http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ for that purpose.

    Thanks so much for your quick reply. I'll try this out.

    Just to check, regenerating WP thumbnails--would that mess up my current photos at all?

    No, it will not. Please read this user's very clear instructions:
