Support » Plugin: Media Cloud for Amazon S3, Imgix, Google Cloud Storage, DigitalOcean Spaces and more » Thumbnail regeneration uploads in wrong directory

  • For older images, if we regenerate thumbnail everything gets uploaded to current month folder rather then original image location directory.

    Example:
    Image location: uploads/2011/10/image1.jpg

Thumbnail regenerated and uploaded to: uploads/2018/03/image1-100×100.jpg

Ideally, it should have been: uploads/2011/10/image1-100×100.jpg

    Any solution to achieve this?

  • Can confirm.

Also, I just imported my media libary with bulk importer and all images have been saved to this month instead of the originally uploaded date. The links are updated correctly so it is no issue for me.

However I think this should be fixed in an update. This might fix the above issue too.

Update: this is actually an huge issue. When using the Media Cloud plugin no problems arise after the import to Spaces.

However, when I deactivate the plugin the paths are incorrect.

I am thinking of using this plug-in – but it sounds like this may be an issue for my site, I have a lot of media that I need to move to S3.

I’d be interested to find out how others have dealt with this problem and whether the problem has caused any long-term issues on their sites.

Also input from the developer would be useful.
