Hello,

I have a question.
Why does WordPress makes 10 thumbnails of every picture I upload?
I want to disable this, but I don’t know how?
It’s taking a lot of space and I think it’s not necessary.

WordPress makes a number of thumbnails so that smaller images can be served when necessary. This can be from an editor’s point of view; where you might want to use a smaller image than the original. It can also be from a user’s point of view, as they might want to save bandwidth when viewing your website.

Are you sure you want to hinder that?

Try a plugin that cleans your media library first: https://wordpress.org/plugins/media-cleaner/
