  • My homepage shows thumbnails for all the pictures on the website horizontally (width > height)

Another webpage shows pictures vertically (height > width).

Thumbnail for the same pictures are shown differently (horizontally vs. vertically) on those two pages. The problem is that the image in the thumbnail shows on homepage has changed its shape. –> Well, it can be describe as a tall wine glass has been changed to a short fat wine glass.

How can I correct the thumbnail image for few specific pictures on a webpage (homepage) without changing thumbnail size on another page?

  • Without a site link we would be quite hard pressed to even guess, with we can review source code and css and review.

Here’s the Homepage The thumbnails are shown randomly on this page.

This page shows the pictures of wine glasses

(Since thumbnails on the Homepage are shown randomly, you’ll probably need to refresh the page to see the thumbnails for wine glasses in order to see the problem)

    Thanks a lot!

What you need to do is recreate the thumbs in nextgen gallery and ignore aspect ratio or portrait thumbs, I forget which, but it’s due to that setting at thumbnail creation…for best results, within a gallery, upload images of exact same size and aspect ratio and make sure the thumb setup is the same aspect ratio…try to separate portrait and landscape images…

    Thank you!

So, is it impossible to put both portrait and landscape images together if I used widget?

No, but you will need to use the thumbnail recreate tool in the gallery to fix the width/height…ie, select the ‘portrait’ thumbnails in the list only and create new thumbnails…

Suggestion: Create a test gallery and test this with varying thumbnail settings to troubleshoot…you will figure it out…
