Thumbnail for youtube aspect ratio

Hello,

I can’t predict the behaviour of the thumbnail size, especially the height is always cropped. I’ve set a 1980×1080 image in youtube, so I expected the thumb to keep the same aspect ratio, but it’s not.

Here I give full horizontal space and see what i got:

here there is less horizontal space but the aspect ratio is always very different:
