Support » Plugin: WP Photo Album Plus » Thumbnail and Facebook

  • Resolved

    Hi again!

I’m having a trouble with publishing my posts to facebook (using Wordbooker) in that it doesn’t create a thumbnail for the post.

I use the single photo feature with WP Photo Album Plus and instead of choosing that as a featured image it instead include the %%wppa%% %%photo=913%% %%size=125%% %%align=left%% code in the facebookbox and has an empty box next to it where the thumbnail is supposed to be.

The same trouble comes up if I try to share the link to one of my posts on Facebook manually aswell.

Is this a common problem and is there any setting that I can fix it with?

In any case %%wppa%% commands are not understood by facebook.

If you supply a link using an existing plugin like AddThis, Facebook appears to be so intelligent that it searches the site for images to add as thumbnail. Most of the time you will not get the image you want.

Therefor i am making my own interface to social media.

    Currently is implemented:

The Share box as part of a slideshow (also available in ‘slphoto’ like in: [wppa type=”slphoto” photo=”#last” size=”640″][/wppa] or
    %%wppa%% %%slphoto=#last%% %%size=640%%)

Check in the Photo Albums -> Settings admin page: Table II-B21 and II-B21.2. This produces a facebook icon that transfers a link to facebook, pointing to the current page and photo, accompanied by only one thumbnail, being the correct image.

More social media features will be added in the future, as far as now, you will have to do it with the above.

Allright, thanks! Looking forward to seeing the social media thing added to this great plugin.

Another thing while I’m at it. It would be great if it was possible to hide albums from showing up in the Upload Photo box. I have a lot of albums which won’t need new photo’s in the future, if they could be checked off to be hidden from that thing then it would be great.

Again, great work and I’m enjoying the plugin so far.

Go to the Photo Albums -> Album Admin page, Edit the album and set the Upload limit to 1 for ever. This will disable the upload link.
