Thousands of users in wp-admin, created by e-commerce (3 posts)

    Store URL: http://www.depressionsforeningen.dk
    WordPress version: 3.8.1
    WP e-Commerce version:
    Gold Cart version:
    Theme: Responsive Theme

I did this: Upgraded wp e-commerce to the latest version.

I expected WP e-Commerce to do this: At least function as well as it did before, and preferely even better.....

Instead it did this: There has been created almost 200.000 anonymous users and more than 40.000 users in the wp-admin. It is beginning to slow down the system backend and takes up a lot of space on the server.....

This is a site with maybe a couple of thousands transactions yearly, and now the anonymous users are growing by the hundreds every minute. Its way out of proportion !

Cron-jobs are allowed on the server and I have tried to insert this in my wp-config.php: define('WPSC_CUSTOMER_DATA_EXPIRATION', 2 * 3600); but it has no effect, as the total of the anonymous users keeps growing......

I hope someone have some useful suggestions, as I am running out of space......

A little further info. I have discovered, that when I disabled W3 Total Cache plugin, the creation of wp-admin-backend users stopped and the number has decreased with approx. 3.000 since yesterday. However the number of anonymous users in my MySQL-database has increased by approx. 40.000...... ??

This suggests some kind of conflict between these plugins.

I am now confused on a higher level.....

Hope to hear from you soon.
