Support » Plugin: Super RSS Reader » Thousands of _transient_timeout_feed and transient_feed in wp-options

  • Hello,
My website was getting quite slow and I went to check the database, I was surprised when I saw the wp_options table was 20mb, I saw there was thousands of rows like this transient_feed , _transient_timeout_feed , keeping the information of the rss feeds. I reckon Super RSS Reader must be generating them,is this really necessary can this be stopped somehow? if it can’t be stopped, is there any way these rows can be deleted automatically? I had to delete them manually and now my website runs a bit quicker, but still the rows keep being created by the plugin.

  • josepaitamala, how long have you had this plugin installed? I just checked my databases, and they’re not even approaching the 1MB size. I’ve been using it for about a month now, on a site with about 30 pages.
What is the URL of your site?

hello, thanks for your help, The thing is i am adding loads of rss feed all in one page, you can see the page here , I read that _transient_timeout_feed and transient_feed should be deleted by default when cron runs, but that doesn’t seem to happen to me because there was thousands of these rows in the database

Gotcha. Nice site, btw. I’m only importing 2 RSS feeds, so I can’t be of much help to you here. Hope you get it all worked out!

Hi psidwell, No problem, thanks for your help anyway, hopefully someone will help, if I find a solution will post it anyway, Regards
