Thoughts on using Portfolio Press for my website?

  • I’m moving my current site onto WP and am looking for a good theme that will showcase my work..

Current site built on Joomla 1.0.12: http://www.jeridjohnson.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=16&Itemid=54

I make custom knives and need to showcase my work.. I typically display my most recent creation at the top of a blogroll.. The user can drill into the blog post and see more images and details..

I also have a few static pages..

I’m curious to get some feedback as to how this theme (and or portfolio+) would work for my site. I’m new to WP so I’m still struggling with the concept and how things get organized..

  • P.S. One thing I noticed is that many of my images have random/different heights while the width is pretty consistent.. Is this going to pose a problem with the grid layout?

    thanks again!

    Hello Jerid,
I have looked at many WordPress themes over the years.
Portfolio Press is worth some closer look 😉
Just added a new section to my website to explore this theme more fully:

I also use Portfolio Press (well, the paid-for Portfolio+ version in my case) – http://www.rhobbsphotography.co.uk/

I have had the same issues with image height in IE8, and Devin (the developer) gave me a fix! It depends on your layout though, maybe… there’s definitely a fix for it, but Devin may give you the one for your particular site.

thanks guys.. i opted to go with a different theme.. Using Photolux..
