I can no longer access my dashboard and my website cannot be accessed.
All from updating a supposedly simple little plug-in. Is WP doing something about this? I have NO idea what to do. And, right before the holiday when people I’m trying to reach for help have left town.
And, ironically, I just emailed someone the other day, saying how WP is so easy to use and “intuitive.”

If you are having problems with this plugin then consider this advice
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/update-and-i-have-error?replies=2#post-4925377
If you can’t login because of these errors then please try deleting the plugin directory wp-content/plugins/quick-cache
.
Just that one quick-cache
directory and nothing else.

It’s the best way to track the volume of problems as well as get specific help for your installations.
Jan–Thanks for the advice. Sorry about not following the correct protocol in posting. I was quite panicked as I am responsible to updating a website for some other people and now I’ve managed to make it not accessible.
I followed the advice here and contacted hostgator via live chat and they took care of it for me. They also told me how to fix myself by adding a short line of code to one of the files in hostgator’s cpanel but I didn’t have my cpanel login info with me (and frankly didn’t want to mess with it anyway).
Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with this.
It’s been a rough day for several Quick Cache users. Before this rewrite, the last update to Quick Cache occurred in 2011. So, any change after so long tends to cause confusion. With this rewrite, we ran several tests over the course of a 3 week period, but now that it’s out in the wild there have been some important issues reported by our most loyal users; and we’re working through these carefully.
@everyone You can monitor our progress here if you’d like. See: https://github.com/WebSharks/Quick-Cache/issues?state=closed We’ve taken care of all reproducible bug reports filed yesterday.
Thanks for your patience.
UPDATE:
We released a new (improved) version of Quick Cache this morning with some of these latest bug reports having been resolved. Get Quick Cache v131127 here. http://wordpress.org/plugins/quick-cache/

Regarding PHP v5.3 and parse errors.

@primothemes – you might want to make new sticky post with this info – so it’s easily findable at the top of your forum. We can close it as well if that makes it easier to keep new support questions out of an info thread?
I just went in to my control panel of my ISP and I can do all the PHP updates myself. Did it and solved the error.
