This Stripe Plugin is currently not compatible with WooCommerce 2.6.1

Today, my client informed me of an error that was happening during checkout. Customers would enter their credit card information and, after pressing the “Place Order” button, it would tell them there was an error and ask them to enter credit card information again. This completely shut down the store.

I ended up going back to WooCommerce 2.5.2 and I was able to successfully complete a transaction. Not a great solution but allowed for transactions to occur.

For a more permanent solution I installed: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/. This is the official WooThemes plugin for Stripe. It’s free. I tested it on my site and was able to upgrade back to WooCommerce 2.6.1 and complete a transaction with no issues.
