Sorry to complain on only my third post - and this is blasphemy I know, but it's time to remember that WordPress is *blog* software, it simply *isn't* built to be forum software! With so many users and support volunteers out there it really *is* time to create a forum where these threads, ideas and whinges and praise can be properly accessed and responded to.

For example, I dropped a request for support in a while back but have no idea where to find it, or any replies. It really is difficult to follow threads and to sort wheat from chaff.

I wouldn't like to suggest any specific software, but with so many good and free ones around surely the time has come to bow down to the inevitable.

This site isn't powered by WordPress. It is bbPress - just take a look at the bottom of the page :)
Yeah, it's not perfect, but if you click on your "View your profile" at the top, or the "member" link under your name - you'll find your most recent posts.

This IS forum software, bbPress. If you need to find your posts, then click into your Profile, it has a list of what you've posted and threads you've started.

    Oops... :)
    /me blushes furiously

Well sorry... but either way it still isn't very good forum software! And the fact I thought I was still in WordPress is either a compliment to one or an insult to the other... your choice :)

Maybe I've been spolied by 'standard' forum presentations, but this one just isn't really functional for its purpose.

A few years ago, Michel V ended an evening having written some code. Right then it didn't allow full blogging, feeds, categories, image uploading, user levels, themes etc etc ... but hey, look at it now :)

It may not be perfect yet but then beauty / eye / beholder, right ?

    :)
