• Hi,

I was redirected to here from WordPress.com customer assistance because they could not help with WordPress.org. They informed me that my website was not, in fact, hosted by WordPress.com but instead Google Clouds. I’ve also contacted Google Clouds assistance to see if they are of any help to my problems.

Problem 1: Every browser that I have cannot access my website (2ndGenPartners.com) and receives the error, ‘This site can’t be reached’ or the ‘404. That’s an error’. I also cannot access the admin page (same errors). Occassionally, the website functions on Mozilla Firefox, but I do not want infrequent functionality, and I definitely want it to work on all browers.

Attempted Solutions: I’ve tried the basic solutions such as clearing your cache and reactivating/redownloading plug-ins, but so far, none of that has worked.

Problem 2: I am confused with WordPress.com and WordPress.org. Having never created a WordPress.org account, I have only been using WordPress.com to edit my website. Have I been only using WordPress.com as a editting tool instead of a hosting source (I thought I was hosting the website through WordPress.com). Should I continue using WordPress.com to edit my website or WordPress.org or something entirely different? I can still occasionally access the admin page for my website on Mozilla Firefox.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do for Problem 1 and Problem 2?

    I am confused with WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-vs-wordpress-com/

    Your site is wordpress.org site.

So, you are on a correct support forum.

However, WordPress.org does not provide hosting for sites, it provides the software for other people to use their own sites on their own hosts.

Your site opens fine for me.

That said, what’s specifically is the issue.

You have a DNS issue. Your domain points to two different places. You need to remove the incorrect IP address.

The DNS servers for your domain are at bluehost.com.

How do I remove the incorrect IP address, but more importantly, which one is the incorrect IP address?

Contact Bluehost support and ask them if they’re hosting your site. You’d modify the DNS through your Bluehost control panel, because they host your domain’s DNS.
