I was able to reach the site on other devices and successfully set it up; however, when I wanted to change from HTTP to HTTPS, and went on the WordPress dashboard->settings->general. I was on a screen that showed the full link to the blog and showed HTTP. I clicked on HTTP and added an S at the end to change it to HTTPS. Now I able unable to access the site. I also purchased the right to have HTTPS right after from Wodu. Please help me be able to access my blog again.

  • It looks like you may not have a valid certificate for your site. Try reverting back to http:// using your wp-config.php file:

    https://wordpress.org/support/article/editing-wp-config-php/#wp_siteurl

Or by changing the siteurl and home options in the wp_options database table to addresses with http://.

I am unable to access my wordpress at all. It simply tells me this site can’t be reached.
How would I be able to access the wp_options database table to fix this problem?

Most hosting companies like GoDaddy, Site Ground, etc., offer a site panel tool to administer your website. Many of these offer phpMyAdmin to view the database. Do you have access to the account where the site is hosted?

Where would I find the tool on those sites? and I only have access to my Jetpack account since my blog can’t be reached.

Do you know where the site is hosted? You will usually go to their main site and they will have a login link. Here is an example of SiteGround:

    https://login.siteground.com/login?lang=en

I am guessing that you don’t have FTP access to the site?

I believe the site is hosted on wordpress.com how ever I can only view the page with my linked blogs, but when i click on the blog, this site can’t be reached is shown. I don’t know what you mean by FTP access.

I doubt that it is on WordPress.com. All of their paid plans have SSL certificates included with them. And I think their free plan doesn’t allow a custom domain like boredomblogging.com to be used. If you log into WordPress.com and click on “My Site” in the upper left, does it show you anything?

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. It is a way to access the files of your site that are on the server. That would be a way that you could edit the wp-config.php file, for example. You would need to use an FTP client like Filezilla but I suspect you don’t have the needed information for this.

I see your domain is hostgator for its name servers. Is it possibly hosted through them?

It does not show me anything when i click my site. Nothiing happens.
Yes I do believe it is hosted through hostgator.

If it is at HostGator, I believe you would start here:

    https://portal.hostgator.com/login
