Support » Plugin: Email Address Security by WebEmailProtector » This Plugin Steals Your Admin Email And Then Sends You SPAM

As in the title, after 5 minutes I installed this plugin, I have received an e-mail from support@webemailprotector.com

They took my e-mail from my user information, and used it to send me their SPAM e-mails suddenly after, without asking for permission.

This is a very unfair, illegal, misrespectful behaviour and that makes impossible for me to trust this plugin anymore.

I think that, in some way, it’s even in contrast with WordPress.org Guidelines in plugin development so it shouldn’t be hosted here.

    Sincerely upset,
    FF

    Hi Frafor,

As explained to you previously, we send you confirmation emails as part of the registration process to confirm your identity along with a support email on installing to assist set-up. This is not spam. This is exactly the same as the majority of other Plugins. So your support thread a little strange as this was already explained to you.

We prevent your email being hosted on your web page and instead provide a reference from our servers on which we hold a copy of your email address. This way it is kept secure, but we do not steal any email addresses. However if you do not wish to use the service please delete the Plugin.

We take data protection serioudly and please refer to our FAQs https://www.webemailprotector.com/faq.html , Term https://www.webemailprotector.com/terms.html and privacy policies https://www.webemailprotector.com/privacy.html for full explainations of what data we retain and what we do. We certainly do not spam anyone.

    Many Thanks – David
